Name Molunat comes from Illyrian and Greek molos, which means port. Molunat is located in a bay of peninsula Molunat. Peninsula Molunat has remains of walls which used to protect families that lived there.

Molunat is rich with ecological preserved vegetation, Mediterranean medical plants, many bays, beaches, peninsulas and clear sea. Molunat has few small sand beaches.
