Today`s name Murter got in 1715. It is situated on west side of island Murter. It is protected with three hills: Raduc, St. Roko and Gradina.

Island Murter (Croatia) is an island in the Croatian Adriatic sea. It is located in central Dalmatia. Island Murter is divided into two municipalities, Murter and Tisno. Kornati islands are part of municipality Murter.Island Murter has 4 touristic villages: Betina, Murter, Tisno and Jezera (The Lakes).
