Senj (Croatia, Kvarner) is located on the Adriatic coast between Rijeka and Zadar. It is situated between the sea, Kapela and Velebit. Senj is connected with roads with Vinodol valley, Rijeka, Zadar, Split and south Dalmatia.

Senj has been developed over 3000 years ago on a hill Kuk which is located eastern of today`s Senj. Today`s Senj is first time mentioned in 4th century BC. When the Romans ruled, Senj became traffic, cultural and trade center of this part of Croatian coast. In 5th, 6th and 7th century different barbarian tribes ruined and burnt the town, and in the Medieval Croats constructed new town on those ruins, today`s Senj.

Under domination of Frankopans, Senj starts to develope again and its trade and traffic significance starts to grow. In 1873. when the railroad Karlovac-Rijeka bypassed Senj, its significance was reduced, but it kept a lot of cultural and historical heritage such as fortress Nehaj, town museum, sacral heritage...

There are National park North Velebit and Park of nature Velebit near Senj with well preserved woods, karstic and hydrogeology phenomenon, biological diversity...
