Ugljan (Croatia, North Dalmatia, Island Ugljan) is town with long year tradition and it is placed between 9 villages in the North West part of the island (Ceprljanda, Lucino selo, Batalaza, Susica, Gornje Selo, Muline, Guduce, Fortostina, Varos) and many nice coves, with the coves of Cinta, Mostir and Juznja luka in Muline as the most beautiful.

The town and the port are situated 11 km in the north from Preko with 1070 inhabitants. The economy is based on agriculture, vineyards, olive plants and fruit plants, fish and tourism. It is placed by the regional road which goes through the island.

Many yachts can be put to the shore on the inner part of the port and it is also safe to anchor larger ships south east from the port.

Monuments from early antics, villa Rustica, late antics mausoleum, remains of the late Christian basilica and monumental oil plant from 1 ct in the cove of Muline are proof of people presence in this area.

In the cape, which comes to the port from the north, there is an ancient Franciscan monastery from 1430 with simple gothic church from 1447. The cloister has magnificent Romanic columns. In the village there are lots of summer houses of the several aristocratic families from Zadar. The ruins of the roman villa can be found in the cove of Batalaza. There are also prehistoric ruins on the hill of Kuran, south east from the village.

Who likes to swim will be amazed by the beautiful pebbly beaches, and the most beautiful are in the coves of Ćinta, Mostir and Juznja luka in Muline. There are several restaurants in Ugljan that offer domestic menu.
